Attach a File to a Notes Record

Overview:

The ‘File Attachments’ table on a Notes Record is used to save a description and filepaths of files associated  with a Notes record for easy viewing. The file may be a documents, instructions, drawings/plan, photos,  correspondence or reports, etc.

 

To attach a file - click in the “Description” field and enter a description of the file. Press <TAB> to move to the “Filename” field, press <F2> and browse for the file to attach within your computer system or network. Click on the file to highlight and click on the Open button. The filepath is recorded on the record, press <F9> to save.

 

 

To view the attached file, click on the required file to highlight and then click on the View Attached Drawing File button (circled below).

 

 

Print and/or close the file as normal. To remove the file path, click on the path to highlight. Use the right-mouse-click to display a drop-down list, click on “Clear Text” and then press <F9> to save the change.
